This 10 day course is an accredited high school class through the New Brunswick public school system.

We teach this class to SJHS students during the school year and wanted to give other students the opportunity to take it. The best part is you will receive a certificate which you can take back to your school for HS credit (get approval from your school first).

Adults can also take this course to give themselves a good foundation for sewing and use it on their resumes.

    Units we will cover are

Sewing Basics: 3 levels with corresponding projects (tote bag, lounge pants, doll)

Garment Construction Techniques: Learn about different techniques used to make clothing

Fashion in the World: Fashion history, fashion careers, fast fashion, fibre content and care.

Garment Construction Project: Make an article of clothing following a commercial pattern, using the techniques you learned throughout the course.

Materials for the first 3 units are included in the course fee; however, you will need to provide a pattern and materials for the garment construction project.

Please note, when we say (ages 7+): not all 7yr olds are ready for “Skills” camps like these, but some are, so we like to include them! If you have questions about whether our camps are a good fit for your younger child, please reach out to us.
