Includes a Sewing Basics Crash Course and 5 sessions to our Beginners: Bags & Bottoms class.

Sewing Basics Crash Course

In this 2hr class we will teach you the basics to get started. Bring your own machine or use one of ours.

• Learn how to operate a sewing machine including threading, winding a bobbin, and how to use different stitch settings.

• Practice basic stitches.

• Learn how to read a commercial pattern envelope to determine your materials list.

• Learn about the grain and bias of fabric and how to cut out a pattern properly.

• Go over proper sewing room set up for successful sewing, learn about the essential tools to get started.

It will be helpful if you come into the class knowing what pattern you would like to make in your Beginners: Bags & Bottoms class, so we can help you with your materials list.

Note: If bringing your own machine, you will also need to bring a spool of thread and an empty bobbin.

Beginners: Bags & Bottoms Class

As part of the Intro to Sewing package, you will receive 5 sessions to our Beginners: Bags & Bottoms class. You will use these classes to practice your skills and work on a project suitable for a new sewist. As well, you will have access to our practice worksheets, which are designed to help you develope your sewing skills.
